§ 56-44. Imposition of fire protection impact fees.

(a)

All fire protection impact construction occurring within the county, both within the unincorporated area and within the municipal boundaries of any municipality that has consented to the imposition of the fire protection impact fee and which participates in the county fire protection system, shall pay the fire protection impact fee established pursuant to this article at the time of issuance of a building permit for such fire protection impact construction.

All fire protection impact construction occurring within the county that submits a complete application for a building permit on or after January 1, 2009, shall not be required to pay the fire protection impact fees imposed by this section pursuant to section 56-142. The collection of fire protection impact fees shall resume upon expiration of the suspension period as provided in subsection 56-142(f) herein.
